Test Description:EPCAM (Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule) is a gene that encodes a protein that plays a role in cell adhesion and signaling pathways. Deletions in the EPCAM gene can lead to a condition called Lynch syndrome, also known as hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC).
Methodology:Multiplex Ligation-dependent Probe Amplification (MLPA) analysis is performed to detect gross deletions in the 3' of the EPCAM (TACSTD1) gene
