Test Name: KIT & PDGFRA Gene Mutation Detection
Compliance:LDT
Test Description:KIT gene mutations are associated with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), mast cell disease, acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), and melanoma. GISTs is a result of mutations which result in excess activity of the KIT or platelet-derived growth factor receptor α (PDGFRA) genes. Identification of mutations in KIT and PDGFRA gene is clinically relevant for disease diagnosis, prognosis, and prediction of response to targeted treatments.
Methodology:PCR-Sanger sequencing analysis of mutations in exons 9, 11, 13, 14 and 17 of KIT gene and exons 12 and 18 of the PDGFRA gene
