Test Name: IDH1 & IDH2 Gene Mutation Detection

Test Description:Point mutations in dehydrogenase enzyme isoforms 1 (IDH1) and 2 (IDH2)  define distinct subsets of low-grade glioma and secondary glioblastoma (GBM), chondrosarcoma, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas and hematologic malignancies. Presence of these mutations confers an adverse prognosis and multiple inhibitors targeting mutated IDH are being developed.
Methodology:PCR-Sanger sequencing analysis of mutations in exons 4 of IDH1 gene and exons 4 of the IDH2 gene
