Test Name: Alpha & Beta Thalassaemia Mutations Screening

Test Description:Thalassemia is a blood disorder passed down through families (inherited) in which the body makes an abnormal form of hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. This test can simultaneously detects the most commonly identified alpha and beta thalassaemia mutations in Chinese population (i.e. 5 α-thalassaemia and 16 β-thalassaemia mutations).
